The 8 most beautiful beaches in Menorca

Smaller and quieter than its sister island Majorca, the beautiful island of Menorca has no shortage of charm, especially when it comes to its heavenly beaches, which stretch along its 200-kilometre-long coastline. The island is the best preserved of the Balearic archipelago, with 70 beaches classified as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The beaches of Menorca offer a magical experience, with white sands and turquoise waters reaching as far as the eye can see. The island also offers a unique unspoilt side, with coves where you can rest, unwind and let your mind wander freely.

South of Menorca: the most beautiful beaches

On its southern coast, Menorca has many postcard-perfect beaches. Although the beaches in the south are a little more crowded than those in the north, this is still quite manageable compared to the other Balearic islands. Easily accessible, the beaches in the south of Menorca are beautiful, exotic and within easy reach of the Menorca Villa, making for a great experience in Menorca.

Son Saura: Menorcan White Sandy Beach

On the southwestern tip of Menorca, the beach of Son Saura is easily accessible when renting a private house in, for example, Cala en Bosc. This heavenly white sandy beach is easily accessible by road. It is supervised and has a gentle slope perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Cala Mitjana : perhaps the most beautiful beach

The most famous beach in Menorca. This small beach is so heavenly that it has even been voted the most beautiful beach in Spain. There is a reason why it is one of the best beaches: its transparent water is a dream, as is its velvety warm sand. It can be reached in a little over twenty minutes on foot from Cala Galdana.

Cala Turqueta : crystalline water

Located on the southwest coast of Menorca, this beach is a small cove offering powdery sand and translucent turquoise waters. The postcard setting on this side of the coast of Menorca is a dream come true. The golden sand and pine trees offer plenty of shade to relax and take in this magnificent natural spectacle.

Binigaus : a beautiful beach on the south coast

Binigaus : a beautiful beach on the south coast

If you choose to stay in high-end accommodation in the charming village of Es Migjorn Gran, you will be even better off than in a 5-star hotel, especially if you are lucky enough to discover the beautiful beach of Binigaus. This very large, sandy beach offers plenty of entertainment, with plenty of places to eat and drink.

Northern Menorcan beaches: the best spots

All over the north of Menorca, unspoilt beaches offer a heavenly setting. Here, however, you have to earn your visit by walking for a few minutes, sometimes even an hour, to enjoy the beauty of the place. Here, the Mediterranean Sea will dazzle you with each cove revealing shades of red, gold and ochre. This untamed paradise is a delight for hikers, sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts alike.

Cala Algaiarens : lush greenery

If you have rented a luxury villa in Ciutadella, be sure to check out the beautiful beach of Cala Algaiarens, 10km further north. Easily accessible, this supervised beach has lovely light grey sand and turquoise waters. The beach is lined with pine trees, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation.

Cala Pregonda: a beautiful piece of paradise

The stunning orange-red sand of this bay makes it one of the most beautiful beaches in Menorca. Its crystal clear waters can be reached after a twenty minute walk from Binimel. It is reminiscent of the Basque coast with its ruggedness and gentle wind, and is a real treat for surfers. However, there is no restaurant to be found in this little corner of paradise - which is something to bear in mind !

Cala Cavalleria: emerald green water

The rocky coves and ragged cliffs that plunge into the waters offer a striking contrast to the gentle, emerald green sea. For a truly magnificent view, climb up to the belvedere from the beach at Cala Cavalleria.

Cala Pilar : ochre cove and red sandy beach

Access to this secluded beach must be earned. After an hour's walk in the sun, the gorgeous, reddish hue of the cliffs is then a fitting reward, as is the natural springs offering drinking water to quench your thirst.
